Salamanca, Spain
On Friday October 15th, we woke up at 6am to pack and get everything ready to leave on the bus to Salamanca at 7:30am. Basically, we haven´t been so tired in quite sometime, since all of us had just returned from France or Italy a couple days before! It was a miserable 7 hour bus ride, but we tried to enjoy the movies showing in Spanish and make the most of it. When we got there we checked into our amazing hotel, took a little nap and went to explore the small, old city of Salamanca. At the end of our little tour, we ran into several Wake Forest students and planned to meet up with them later so they could show us where the real fun was in the town! We went out at 11:30pm with a huge group of Wake Forest students that we had never met before, which was refreshing and felt so comfortable to meet people from our North Carolina home! The next day we did the whole sightseeing thing and all really enjoyed the architecture and beauty of this quaint city--even though we were all FREEZING. Overall, the trip was a big success and we just had a great time hanging out with new Wake Forest friends and just becoming closer with the other students with ISA that we were traveling with! Basically, one great field trip and we can´t wait til our next one together to Granada and Cordoba in November!

Amber and Lindsay Conquer Italy!
So....our trip to Italy was more than a success. Although it was our first trip without Katie and Kelly, we still managed to have fun! We visited Venice, Florence, and Rome in 5 days with a few spontaneous decisions and some bumps in the road. We were little social butterflies and made friends in each city (which managed to get us quite a few free drinks and meals). Let us just say that we spent more on transportation than food and lodging combined. We can say that we "camped" in Italy though.Venice: gorgeous pictures, Murano glass shops every 10 feet, 2 gelatos each day, Wake Forest girls, Dance of the Gondoliers (because that was free and a Gondola ride was a ridiculous price...we did take the vaporetto though, which is Venice´s bus system on the canal), and thank you Danielle for free cappucinos and an incredible dinner!Florence: RAIN...tent...drain toilets...RAIN....now the positives: shopping at the mercato, best focaccia ever, free dinner at Pepperdine House, Pietro-the gourmet chef, and the best meal of our lives...notice we didn´t mention the DAVID? Don´t go to Florence on a Sunday and Monday because all the museums are closed! We got some great photos of the city though and the people we met made up for the sighseeing misfortunes. Rome: Super sightseeing!! St. Peter´s, Vatican, Colosseum, Roman Ruins, fountains, etc. in 1 day and ending with another free evening out with some Italian policemen. On Wednesday we sadly had to leave Rome, but couldn't have asked for a more eventful trip with memories that will last a lifetime! Grazie Italia!
